Family mediation creates a structured setting for respectful communication while the participants retain control over whether they reach an agreement. Mediation is not legal representation, does not guarantee settlement, and may not be appropriate for every matter.
Family mediation offers a neutral setting where parents, adult children, siblings, and other relatives can identify concerns, exchange information, and explore practical options. Mediation communications are generally confidential under Florida law, subject to statutory exceptions. The mediator facilitates communication but does not decide the dispute, represent either participant, or provide legal advice.
Parenting-plan, scheduling, communication, and household-transition discussions. Any proposed agreement may require independent legal review or court approval.
Structured conversations about the distribution, management, or use of family property when the participants are willing to mediate.
Disputes among relatives who want to explore a practical resolution without asking the mediator to impose an outcome.
Family members directly involved in the disagreement may participate when appropriate. Participation is generally voluntary unless a court order, rule, or other legal requirement applies. The mediator may also discuss whether attorneys, support persons, or other participants should attend.
Florida law generally protects mediation communications as confidential, but statutory exceptions apply. A signed written agreement reached in mediation is not automatically confidential unless the parties agree otherwise. We facilitate the process and may provide authorized notarial or clerical services; we do not provide legal advice or court representation.
