The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) regulates many professions and businesses in Florida. DBPR states that most licensure applications require a full set of fingerprints. After the applicant submits the license application, an FDLE-approved Live Scan service provider transmits the fingerprints electronically using the ORI assigned to the profession. FDLE and the FBI process the criminal-history check, and DBPR retrieves the results through its secure system. An incorrect ORI can prevent DBPR from receiving the results, so the profession and code must be confirmed before transmission.
The ORI numbers below are published by Florida DBPR for several professions that require electronic fingerprints. Codes and procedures can change, so we verify the current profession-specific instructions before every DBPR fingerprinting transaction. Florida real estate applicants use the profession-specific DBPR ORI. Submit the license application first, then complete fingerprinting promptly.
This license is handled by the Florida Office of Financial Regulation through NMLS. We confirm the required federal or Florida transaction before scheduling.
Construction applicants use the ORI assigned to the Construction Industry Licensing Board. Requirements depend on the application type and role.
