Florida residents applying for a marriage license have two options:
The licence will become effective three days after the date of application, or alternatively, couples may attend a premarital preparation course from a registered provider, which will waive the three-day waiting period. If you wish to attend one of these pre-marital courses, a directory of course providers is available at all court locations. If you are a non-Florida resident, there is no waiting period, which means you can get married IMMEDIATELY! If the marriage is between two people of the same gender, (Gay Marriage), remember that in Florida, equal marriage is legal.
